長谷工マンションミュージアム

２０１９年夏WCIの学生達（8カ国12名）を迎えるにあたり、長谷工様にミュージアムの訪問依頼をしたところ快く受け入れてくださり、ご厚意で私達WCTCのボランティアが英語通訳ガイドもさせていただきました。

多摩センターにある長谷工マンションミュージアムでは、住まいの歴史、マンションを支える最先端の技術、私達の想像を超えた未来のくらしなどを同時に体験することができます。

災害国日本であっても安全に生活できるという当たり前の日常が、これほどの技術に支えられているのだということを目の当たりにした私達は、感動と誇りを持って日本の技術を海外の若者達に通訳できました。
この貴重な経験は、特に若い学生ボランティア達にとって、これからの大きな財産になっていくことと思います。

Thanks to Haseko Corporation, the volunteers of WCTC had the opportunity to provide the WCI members with an English guidance in summer 2019.

The Haseko Mansion Museum, where we can experience the history of living, state-of-the art technology, and future life beyond our imagination, is located at Tama Center.

We are deeply impressed that even in the disaster country Japan, their leading technology supports our daily life safely so that’s why we were able to introduce this great Japanese technology to WCI students with admiration and pride.
I think this valuable experience will become a great asset in the future, especially for young volunteers.

Moreover, we are very grateful to Haseko Corporation as a special sponsor for supporting jour WCTC activities this year. We’ve also determined to serve as a bridge between Tama citizens, companies and the youth of the world.

最初に館長の江口さまが、施設のことや成り立ちなど、見学前に欠かせないことを話してくださいました。　いただいたご挨拶は海外メンバーが英語で通訳してくれました。

At first, the curator, Mr. Eguchi gave information about the museum. He talked about the facilities and the structure of the facilities.
A WCI member, who can speak Japanese, translated the introduction in English.

ウェルカムシアターでは、マンションの成り立ちなどを映像と共に鑑賞しました古代の人々から現代の人々がまるで一体感を生むような迫力が360°の映像で繰り広げられ、圧倒されました。

At the Welcome Theater, we watched the history of the mansions with images.
The picture was unfolded in a 360degree video and we felt as if since ancient times, modern people had become one. It was so powerful that we were overwhelmed by it.

設計コーナーでは、ＶＲ（Virtual Reality）メガネを装着し、建築現場に行ったような感覚を味わいました。

At the design corner, we enjoyed the feeling of going to a construction site, wearing VR equipments.

技術や施工のコーナーでは、建築の奥の深さに、驚きました。

At the technology and construction corner, we admired the high level of building technology.

日本の現代建築を英語で説明するという難しい機会でしたが、海外メンバーがよく理解してくれたようで達成感がありました！

Although it was difficult to explain modern Japanese architecture in English, we felt a sense of accomplishment because WCI students understood what we translated.

There are many other sections in the HASEKO Mansion Museum.
歴史年表と比較しながらマンションの起こりを学んだり、古い間取りと現代のマンションを体験したり、最新技術、および未来への展望も見ることができます。

For example, you can learn the origin of mansion contrasting with historical chronology, experience the difference between an old type floor plan and contemporary one, or watch the latest technologies and also a future life.

実際に手で触れられる展示物もあり、体感できるのも魅力です。

Since you can touch exhibits, it is very attractive to experience them.
